Learn to design and develop games with Unity, the most popular 3D tool among professional game developers. Create 3D environments and then practice C# programming skills to control your games. Learn core game development techniques including level design, collision detection, texturing, lighting, particles, and user interface design. Then try Blender to make 3D models to import into your games.
Make, play, and learn about games and game development over the course of a week. Students get hands-on experience with professional video game-making tools and techniques. At the end of the week we welcome parents and family members to an open house where we showcase the student-led projects.

Do you have a passion for games and want to create your own?
Our Game Design camp is a perfect next step to improve programming and design skills while studying what you enjoy. Learn the theory and techniques needed for creating games, as well as other forms of non-linear art.
Each morning begins with a presentation and discussion exposing students to critical aspects of game development, followed by hands-on learning and coding. During the afternoon students are given the opportunity to focus on select topics working alone or with peers along with the support of our instructors. Students are encouraged to both explore new areas of the game development process and focus on the topics and skills they enjoy the most.
At Geekedu, our small instructor to student ratio provides customized learning. Unlike other camps, our instructors have degrees in Computer Science and STEAM-focused fields.

What you’ll learn

  • Master beginner C# concepts, like variables, “if” statements, and arrays
  • Create power-ups including triple shots, laser beams, speed boosts, and shields

What’s special in the camp?

Our camps are different from others because we stray from confining our students’ creativity. Learning to code is a personal experience and choosing to code what you’d like is a freedom all students should have. Geekedu instructors will be instructing your child to program, not making them copy code.

Furthermore, our camps are taught by experienced industry professionals. On a daily basis, your child will be able to interact with programmers at the forefront of computer science and learn to code from the best!

What are they going to learn?

At Geekedu, we strive to equip the youth with the knowledge to explore their own creativity. With this camp, our objective is to build a strong foundation for your child in the world of STEM!

– Critical Thinking: Your child will learn to see a problem, form a plan, then solve it through systematic thinking.
– Creativity: Your child will learn to create their own projects where their only limit is their imagination.
– Problem-solving: Your child will be engaged in tasks where they learn to find alternative ways to resolve problems.
– Team Work: Your child will work in a group, where they will collaborate and learn with other students.
